We have lived in Silverstream for six years and every day is magic. People are very friendly and there is a good mix of people including ages and ethnicity.
I feel privileged to be a member of the Silverstream Social Club and through this I have taken part in organising several events throughout the year, including a Duck Race, Xmas Party, Movies, Quiz Nights, Wine Tour etc – All of which are well supported by the community.
The Developers have encouraged a lot of this to happen and the feeling is of a self-sufficient place to live.
We are very fortunate to have the local businesses within walking distance, Urban Revival for a coffee fix, Doctor and Chemist, Physio, Dentist, Dairy, Hairdresser etc so they are easily accessible to all residents.
Supermarkets are close by in Kaiapoi and Rangiora, and Hardware, Fashion and Shoes, plus several Restaurants so no need to travel into the city. We seldom do that now as everything you need is only minutes away.
People walk and ride around the stream, which we are lucky to have on our doorstep. There’s something for everyone!
